Warehouse Worker

Summary:

Warehouse Associates at Max Finkelstein, Inc. play an essential team role in our operational success and are responsible for various aspects of warehousing, shipping, and receiving, including the safe operation of material handling equipment, forklifts, order selectors/pickers, reach/turret trucks and use of handheld scanning equipment and software.

Responsibilities: 

• Operate powered industrial vehicles (forklifts, pallet jacks, order pickers, etc.) in a safe and efficient manner
• Use of handheld RF scanners and related warehouse management software systems 
• Accurately receive, pick, and ship inventory with a sense of urgency 
• Loading and unloading of delivery trucks; requires physical moving/lifting of product weighing up to 100 pounds 
• Assist in verifying accuracy of orders and inventory shipped & received  
• Participate as part of the Distribution Center team, assisting in facility tasks and responsibilities  
• Operational performance in the following areas: safety, equipment care, inspection and maintenance, work standards, effective communication, following instructions, policies and procedures  
• Other duties as may be necessary and assigned

Education, Experience, and Skills:

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
• 1 year of warehouse experience preferred (not mandatory)   
• Ability to work a flexible schedule that meets the needs of the business  
• Ability to lift 100 pounds to waist and 20 pounds above shoulders  
• Capable of operating material handling equipment at elevations of 25+ ft.  
• Strong verbal communication
