NATURE AND SCOPEThis position reports to the Operations Supervisor and is operations in nature.
In performance of duties, this position is responsible for the following: General cleaning dutiesTable and pantry busingDishwashing proceduresTimely and efficient delivery of food from main kitchen to satellite kitchensAssisting in food preparation as directedAdherence to all sanitation and food handling protocolsAdherence to all safety policies & procedures of Covenant Village of Florida and regulatory authorities.Maintenance of confidentiality of all pertinent resident information to assure residents’ rights and employee confidentiality are protected.Proper personal appearance and hygiene according to established proceduresAttendance and participation in in-service training (IST) programs.Reporting of all hazardous conditions or equipmentReporting of all accidents / incidentsAssurance that food preparation and storage areas are maintained in a clean and properly arranged manner at all timesMaintenance of dish machine logsReporting inventory needs for dish machine or cleaning supplies to Production ManagerPerformance of other duties as deemed necessary and appropriate, or as may be directed.
EQUIPMENTIn performance of duties, this position requires the use of various kitchen equipment and tools routine and common to a kitchen.
Customer Service Expectations Assures that food prepared meets any applicable health and state regulations.
Ensures plate’s presentation is attractive and accurate and food is kept at an appropriate temperature.Responds to requests and comments courteously offering an alternative or solution.
Reports residents’ change of health, physical or mental, to supervisor and/or Wellness Clinic Nurse.
Maintains complete confidentiality.Maintains food preparation areas according to health and safety regulations.
Exemplifies campus dress code according to department.Actively listens to residents and staff to determine needs and may offer solution or help.
Shares information learned with supervisors.Delivers food promptly and responds to requests immediately.
QUALIFICATIONSThis position requires good communication skills; must be able to demonstrate effective reading, writing and speaking skills.
Must have the ability to use chemicals safely.
Must be able to interface with people at all levels and with residents in a positive and professional manner.
A High School Diploma is preferred for this position.
This position requires full understanding and effective application of sanitation, food borne illness, and cross-contamination policies and procedures.
This position requires knowledge of cleaning chemicals and other hazardous materials.
Must have awareness of right-to-know issues, use of HACCP protocols, proper smallwares handling.
Must have knowledge of resident’s rights, departmental policies and procedures.
Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, manually lift 30-50 lbs., and frequently withstand warm to hot temperatures.
Must be able to work overtime, holidays, weekends as assigned.
