Warehouse– Crater, Swing

Description A Crater job is available in Tacoma, WA at Milgard Windows and Doors.

You should have prior experience with power tools with the ability to read a tape measure.

You will be building packings and shipping crates for shipment of our window and doors.

Crater job responsibilities include: Build packing and shipping crates, placing packaging products on to empty steel carts.

Close finished crates, applying wood wrappings, plastic wrappings, taping shut the bundles, cinching down wood wrapping with electric banders, and applying for tickets.

Transport crates to staging area via overhead crane or forklift.

Stock packaging materials in the plant from storage pallets.

Clean by sweeping floor, wiping equipment.

Operate machinery such as band cutter, electric bander, extrusion saws.

Learn basic extrusion operator skills such as tool cleaning, paperwork, and quality control for back-up and promotion purposes.

Assist in the packaging of extrusion lines or startup of extrusion lines.

Transport miscellaneous materials such as garbage dumpsters, storage pallets using forklifts.

Requirements Qualifications: Three plus months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Exposure to standard household tools and saws is a must.

A high school diploma or GED is preferred.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all measure units, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Ability to compute, rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

The employee must regularly lift/ or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and /or move up to 100 pounds.

The employee is required to lift packaging materials and pack parts into bundles.

This job's specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus, drive a forklift, read tickets, and walk around moving equipment.
