Oversees the distribution center’s activities in accordance with established policies and procedures.1.

Manages the distribution center’s picking, shipping and replenishment activities.

2.

Plans and facilitates the training and development of subordinate supervisors and staff.

3.

Identifies candidates for advancement within the distribution center or other departments for purpose of succession planning.

4.

Participates in the development of mid-term and long-term strategic distribution planning.

5.

Participates in and coordinates programs for methods improvements, work simplifications, cost reduction, communications, training, etc.

6.

Directs subordinates in the assignment of work for most efficient use of personnel and equipment.

7.

Coordinates and directs the processing of required transportation document and forms, and the maintenance of records, files, and reference data relating to customers, regulations, etc.

8.

Consults with traffic and inventory control personnel to solve problems and improve processes.

9.

Develops and utilizes tracking parameters for reporting, productivity, and service.

10.

Ensures optimum utilization of all distribution resources including space, labor, and equipment.

11.

Participates in meetings with production management and other personnel as required.

12.

Participates in planning for operating budget and controls department to operate within approved budget.

13.

Is responsible for the proper application of established department employee relations, policies, wage and salary adjustments, administration policies, and safety and health regulations.

14.

Is responsible for quality and safety of own work and compliance of all company procedures and policies.Bachelor’s Degree in business or/and three years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Must have demonstrated problemsolving, time management and leadership abilities.

Proficient computer skills.

Must have the ability to effectively work with people in a team environment and at various levels of the organization.

Must possess strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Will interact with employees at all levels of the organization, customers and outside contacts.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to hear and speak.

The employee must regularly stand, walk, sit and use hands to grasp and handle.

Specific vision requirements include close vision and ability to focus.

This position may be exposed to moving equipment.

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
