This is a Full-time position in Vance, AL posted November 29, 2021.

Job Description PURPOSE: Manage materials, goods and products (including importing and exporting) to ensure that they are in the right place to meet customer demand.

Emphasis on data analysis with some shop floor engagement.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Plan, manage and evaluate logistics operations liaising with internal stakeholders, suppliers, logistics providers, transportation companies and customers.

Create and implement best practice logistics principles, policies and processes across the organisation to improve operational and financial performance.

Deliver solutions to logistics problems while maintaining high levels of quality and service within budgetary requirements.

Monitor quality, quantity, delivery times, and transport costs; negotiate rates and contracts with transportation and logistics providers and recommend optimal transport modes, routes or frequency.

Identify savings by removing waste or unnecessary steps in the logistics process and interpret trends and analyse and review data.

Select carriers/suppliers and monitor service against performance criteria and ensure carrier compliance with company policies or procedures for product transit or delivery.

Assess and make recommendations for logistics processes in potential new facilities or plants and advise of cost implications and efficiency.

Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify inefficiencies and cost optimization opportunities.

Manage, coach and develop a high performing team that meets agreed objectives and delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related field of study OR the equivalent combination of education and/or years of relevant work experience.

Minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional experience in a Supply Chain or Transportation function within the automotive manufacturing environment with emphasis on logistics processes and procedures.

REQUIRED SKILLS: Project Management skills & proven record of thinking analytically with a problem-solving focus.

Advanced understanding of manufacturing processes, supply chain management, and associated components, specifically in the automotive industry.

Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills in a team-based atmosphere.

Effective planning skills with the ability to handle multiple projects through to completion.

Business acumen with a full understanding of the impact of failure in terms of costs, production schedules, and customer orders.
