Full responsibility under the Plant Manager and/or Supervisor to manage spare parts, MRO inventory, purchase items, and shipping/receiving functions in a safe and efficient manner with the following responsibilities and requirements.
- Inventory management:

- Monitor item usage.
- Get quotations and purchase items as needed.
- Utilize inventory and purchasing software.
- Maintain item organization.
- Interface with vendors managing inventory.
- Purchasing:
-
- Provide support to Supervisors and Mechanics in keeping the production equipment operational.
- Maintain database of approved suppliers.
- Maintain contact information of approved suppliers.
- Understand each supplier’s product line and their strengths/weaknesses.
- Obtain quotations.
- Understand Silgan cost centers as it relates to storeroom items.
- Purchase items within budgetary limits.
- Utilize the E1 purchase order system and search functions.
- Interact with the Accounting department during end of month closure.
- Shipping/Receiving:

- Operate the UPS shipping software.
- Interact with the Shipping/Receiving Coordinator and truck drivers dock 103.
- Receive UPS, FedEx, and other items through dock 103.
- Verify packing slips with quantities received.
- Properly label items and place in the correct inventory location.
- Recycle and/or dispose of packaging material.
Job Requirements
Education, Skills, and Experience:
- Education
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Prior experience in:
- Store room and/or inventory management.
- Shipping and receiving procedures and documentation.
- Purchasing and budgets.
- Ability to perform assigned tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision.
- Basic knowledge using email, Excel, Word.
- Read, write and comprehend at least at a high school level.
- Operate a hand truck, pallet jack, and overhead door.
- Able to interact with supervisors, mechanics, vendors, on a technical level.
- General knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical operation.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Preferred Skills
- Previous experience in a factory manufacturing environment.
- Previous manufacturing safety training.
- Fluent in E1 or other inventory software.
- Previous experience purchasing items online.
- Safely operate a dock lock, dock plate and other dock related equipment.
- Prior experience operating a forklift.
- 5S or other housekeeping training.
- Physical Requirements

- Must be able to lift, push or pull up to 50 pounds on occasion. Must pass a physical to obtain a forklift license.
