JOB SUMMARY:This position is responsible for performing a wide variety of shipping tasks for the Material Handling department and other duties as assigned by the Parts Room Lead.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:* Steward our mission (to enrich lives by providing differentiated packaging automation and services) and values (unwavering integrity, servant’s heart, ownership spirit and continuous innovation and improvement).* Package all shipments and parcels appropriately in a secure and sturdy manner.* Prepare daily small package cart for afternoon pickup.* Receive freight.* Unload freight.* Oversee and train new employees in the shipping area.* Must possess strong customer service skills and be able to communicate via e-mail and phone conversations with internal and external customers.* Must be able to work with carriers on damaged or lost freight claims.* Must have complete understanding and knowledge of International shipping processes.* Must understand NAFTA rules and regulations and be able to complete paperwork for shipment.* Operate forklifts, pallet jacks and tuggers to move incoming freight.* Update computer generated inventories and documents.* Assist in the counting of physical inventory.* Deliver packages to UPS hub if necessary.* Close down shipping and run end of the day report.* This position may assume 2nd shift shipping duties when necessary.* Keep shipping areas neat and clean through 5-S practices with the goal of sustaining and improving 5-S scores.* Responsible for complying with all safety policies and procedures.QUALIFICATIONS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
