Learn more at www.westrock.com.The opportunity:The Hicksville facility is seeking Shipping Clerks for the 1st shift (Monday-Friday, 7am-3pm and 9am-5pm). In this role you will assist in the overall operation of the shipping dock by assuring all shipments are handled properly, including product being stacked properly to meet shipment quality standards.How you will impact WestRock:Creates and processes packing lists and bills of lading properly.Assures all documentation is legible and accurate.Customizes skids for customer specific needs.Assures proper tracking through the operating system.Trains others as necessary.Operates scale and skid wrapper.Maintains on-time shipment goals by assuring shipments are dispatched to the appropriate carrier.Communicates with vendors in regards to product outsourced.Assures customer receiving standards are met.Loads trucks with proper product for shipment.Processes airway shipments via carrier websites.Tracks shipments from various carriers, via telephone and internet, to obtain information as needed.Performs the function of delivery driver as needed.Performs other job duties as assigned.What you need to succeed:Must have high school diploma or G.E.D.Must have 6-12 months’ related experience and/or training.Must have the ability to read and write complex instructions, correspondence and memosMust have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.Must have strong mathematical skills.Must have experience in Excel and Outlook.Must be able to learn and become proficient in the operating system.Must have the ability to operate FedEx and UPS meter machines.Must have good communication skills.Must have strong attention to detail.Must have knowledge of loading techniques.Must be capable of maintaining good attendance.Must be able to work overtime as needed.Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonableaccommodation.What we offer:Corporate culture based on integrity, respect, accountability and excellenceComprehensive training with numerous learning and development opportunitiesAn attractive salary reflecting skills, competencies and potentialA career with a global packaging company where Sustainability, Safety and Inclusion are business drivers and foundational elements of the daily work.WestRock Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to creating and maintaining a diverse workforce: Minorities/Females/ Disabled/Veterans.#NY
