Shipping and Receiving Clerk
Job Description
Job Summary
Verifies and records all incoming and outgoing shipments. Prepares items for shipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibility:Include the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
Unpacks and examines incoming shipment, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
May operate or use a hand truck, pallet jack or forklift to move, convey, or hoist shipments from the shipping and receiving department to storage, or other work areas.
Assembles wooden or cardboard container or selects pre-assembled containers.
Stamps, stencils, or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crate or containers.
Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other work areas.
Determine proper storage methods, identification, and stock location based on turnover, environmental factors, and physical capabilities of facilities.
Maintains the machines, systems and work areas with which they perform their duties. Perform 5S duties on a daily basis for organization, safety and cleanliness.
Perform other duties as assigned in support of the company and fellow employees.

Required Qualifications:
High School diploma with strong relevant work experience is required (working knowledge of hand-held measuring equipment and Optical comparators).
Basic reading, writing, and math skills
Education and/or Experience:
High School diploma or general education degree (GED). One year related experience. Must have basic computer skills.
