Overview.

We are seeking a Senior Research Associate for the Upstream Process Development team to support the development of cell culture processes to produce adeno-associated virus (AAV) viral vector.

This individual is a skilled and motivated researcher with experience in bioreactor cell culture production processes.

We seek candidates with the proven ability to work independently and collaboratively to achieve optimized project plans, with the goal to deliver products that transform the lives of patients..

Responsibilities.

Support the design and execution of experiments to optimize critical scientific and engineering parameters for AAV production including cell culture growth, feed strategies, transfection, harvest, and lysis..

Analyze experimental data, author technical reports, and prepare presentations..

Work collaboratively with analytical, downstream, and manufacturing teams to integrate new discoveries and scale-up strategies into the production process.

Analyze and compare data across multiple scales.

Support the generation of tech transfer documents and review manufacturing batch records..

Help lead the management of laboratory and bioreactor operations including equipment maintenance, inventory and procurement, and the authoring and review of protocols and data entry templates.

Maintain a clean and functional lab environment..

Maintain appropriate production protocols and analytical results in company databases and electronic lab notebooks..

Qualifications.

5+ years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 3+ years and a Master’s degreein chemical/biochemical engineering, biology/biochemistry, or related field; or equivalent Biotech/Pharmaceutical industry experience..

Experience with mammalian suspension cell culture and operation of lab scale bioreactor systems and single use bioreactor systems for cell culture..

Experience with transient transfection and/or viral vector production..

Experience with data management and ELN..

Able to effectively manage and prioritize multiple parallel laboratory activities is essential..

Motivated, organized, detail oriented and good problem-solving ability..

Strong interpersonal written and oral communication skills..
