Principal Security Research Engineer

Job Description

The Keysight Application and Threat Intelligence (ATI) Research Center is currently looking for a Principal Security Researcher to join the team.

The role will allow you to explore aspects of cyber security across all domains, from connected vehicles to the largest carrier networks.

The ATI team have a large database of vulnerabilities and exploits, top-notch Threat Intelligence Platform, Malware Labs that enable safe exploration and dissection of Malware, and as a global team we are continuously identifying new threats that the team will work on together.

The ideal candidate would act as a mentor for the more junior team members, to assist them in research and also helping them turn that research into material that can be used in speaking engagements or blogs.

This role will be a thought leader for information security at Keysight, many opportunities for growth and new adventures as Keysight expands our cyber security solutions.

Location:

Prefer Austin, Texas with option for remote working hours.

Can consider other city with Keysight office in North America.

Reports to:

Senior Director of Application and Threat Intelligence Research Center

Responsibilities:

• Influential participation in security product features and roadmap development

• Identify and lead research activities into exploitation and threat intelligence techniques

• Perform targeted customer and industry research to assist in developing tools and test cases to validate the performance, security, and stability of cyber infrastructure devices

• Compose white papers for publication

• Contribute to our blog about any technical topic of interest, including day-to-day work or outside interests

• Present in front of customers and at industry trade shows

• Mentor and coach less experienced team members

Job Qualifications

• Creative problem-solving and approach to research

• Broad knowledge of networking protocols, wired and wireless

• Strong programming skills in multiple languages (C, Python, Ruby, etc)

• Proven history of vulnerability discovery, exploit development, and open-source development

• Strong and proven domain knowledge in vulnerability research and exploit development

• In-depth knowledge of protocol analyzers (e.g.

Wireshark)

Education and Experience:

• College degree in CS or EE or equivalent experience

• 10+ years of experience in security research position

• OSCP and other certifications are very helpful

• Cloud security knowledge and experience, AWS or Azure, a big plus
