Job Summary:
This research position will utilize tissue culture and molecular biology techniques to generate novel antibodies, bispecific antibodies, antibody drug conjugates, and therapeutic biologics to contribute to our client’s oncology biologics pipeline.
The role of a Principal Researcher in the Biologics Discovery & Development department is a dynamic role requiring a willingness and ability to learn new laboratory techniques, instrumentation, and software.
Job Description:
- Independently design and execute experiments, conducting research activities within established guidelines.
Participate in discussion and review of new efforts.
- Review the effectiveness of current laboratory equipment and suggest ways to better manage available equipment within research programs.
- Test standard procedures to provide recommendations for improvement for use across programs
- Document research plans and maintain accurate and current record-keeping of experimental results.
- Contribute to information database development.
Independently review and share experimental results with project management
- Collect and collate results and inferences to report to supervisor, project team and senior colleagues.
- Collaborate effectively with fellow project members to accomplish team goals in an efficient manner
Job Requirements:
- BS/MS in biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, or related field
- 5-10 years (BS) or 3-6 years (MS) research.
- Must demonstrate research experience in molecular cloning techniques (e.g., PCR, RT-PCR, restriction enzyme cloning, LIC), in silico plasmid design and sequence analysis, mammalian recombinant protein expression systems, tissue culture, Western blot, SDS-PAGE, ELISA, etc.
- Must demonstrate an open and pro-active attitude, ability to multi-task in a team-oriented environment and the ability to effectively communicate experimental results is a must.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
- Isolation and culture of primary immune cells, Flow cytometry, ForteBio Octet BLI, CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing, qPCR/qRT-PCR, NGS.
