The Center for Industrial Ecology at Yale University has a Postdoctoral Scholar position available for a project involving the life cycle assessment of additive manufacturing.
3D printing is an emerging manufacturing technology that has gained increasing attention and interest in the industry and the industry itself is looking to improve its environmental footprint overall.
The goal of this project is to understand the potential environmental impacts and economic implications of additive manufacturing compared to conventional manufacturing pathways.
The postdoc will work with Prof.
Marian Chertow and Prof.
Yuan Yao.
The position will focus on:
The ideal candidate should have a Ph.D.
in Mechanical Engineering or other engineering disciplines with LCA and LCC experience in 3D printing and manufacturing technologies.
Candidates with strong publications in relevant topics are highly encouraged.
