Compensation: $15.00 to $17.00 hourly

If you are eager to start a career as an Accounting Clerk, Accountemps is searching for an experienced candidate to fill the position for a well-respected company in the healthcare, hospitals, social assistance industry. The main tasks of the Accounting Clerk will be assisting in the process of Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R), matching invoices to purchase orders and/or vouchers, and general forms of data entry. This is a long-term temporary-to-full-time position located in the WestHaven, Connecticut area.

Your responsibilities

– Circulate financial information to journals and ledgers

– Overall accounting: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects

– Assist Accounts Payable: vendor invoices and disbursement filing, A/P invoice matching & filing

– Assemble statements and reports that require utilization of an array of sources

– Work with Accounts Receivable: apply cash receipt, help with collection of past due balance, and process daily invoices/credit

– Group documents that require knowledge in determining proper classification of accounting codes and expenditure codes

– Patch up discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required

Job Requirements:
– Ability to enter data into various electronic systems while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the data

– Comprehensive knowledge of inventory

– Ability to multitask, collaborate and communicate well with individuals of all backgrounds in a fast-paced environment

– AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred

– Qualified in Spreadsheet and ERP system
