The Data Entry Clerk updates and maintains information on company databases and computer systems specifically related to Pipe Production department operations.
The Data Entry Clerk provides administrative support and a variety of clerical functions to support the plant leadership team.
The Data Entry Clerk will collect various information of Pipe Production from operators and management and enter into the appropriate systems for historical recording.
A successful Data Entry Clerk will be responsible for maintaining accurate, up-to-date, and useable information in our systems by performing the duties described herein.
This position reports to the Human Resource Generalist.Maintains database by entering new and updated information.Prepares source data for computer entry by compiling and sorting information.Processes Pipe Production department documents by reviewing and verifying data for deficiencies.Resolves deficiencies by using standard procedures or returning incomplete documents to the team leader for resolution.Transfers data from paper formats into computer files or database systems using keyboards, data recorders or optical scanners.Creates spreadsheets with large numbers of figures without mistakes.Prepares reports, reconciliations, and summaries as directed by management based upon information from data retrievals.Verifies entered Pipe Production department data by reviewing, correcting, deleting, or reentering data.Combines data from multiple inputs when work order information is incomplete.Sorts, organizes, and stores physical paperwork after entering data for future reference.Purges files to eliminate duplication of data.Secures information by completing data base backups.Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.Prepares, updates, and maintains appropriate records for all Job Safety Analysis (JSA’s).Transcribes policies, procedures, and JSAs as directed by management.Prepares, updates, and displays performance charts and plant safety data throughout the plant as directed by management.Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.Performs other tasks as instructed by management.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSMust be physically able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations.Must be able to have effective written and oral communication skills.Must be able to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.Must be able to write routine reports and correspondence.Must be able to speak effectively before groups of managers or employees of organization.Must be able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to employees and members of management.Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Must be able to perform operations using weight measurement, volume, and distance.Must be able to read measurements using tape measure.Must be able to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.Must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.Must be able to read, understand, interpret, and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.Must have robust organizational skills and problem-solving skills.Must be able to effectively multitask, and balance priorities in a dynamic environment.Must have fast typing skills while maintaining accuracy.Must have great attention to detail.Must have excellent knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSKnowledge of ERP systems, preferable JDE Oracle, preferred.Willingness to learn and apply multiple job-related skills.ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONSThe employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and talk or hear.The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance.The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
