The MES Support Engineer is responsible for analyzing and supporting Cepheid’s implementation of Siemens’ Camstar Manufacturing Execution System (MES) in our Newark facility, a 24/7 manufacturing site.

This requires broad end-to-end knowledge of manufacturing and system processes from different perspectives: operator, quality engineering, quality assurance, logistics, etc.

The MES Support Engineer is part of a larger team, which is spread out over the different manufacturing sites.

This position is part of the Information Technology Group and will be located in Newark Ca..

The MES Support Engineer also works in close collaboration with the Cepheid IT and Manufacturing departments to ensure manufacturing continuity, end-user training, resolution of Camstar issues, and process improvements/updates in Camstar with minimal guidance.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:Provide guidance and support to Newark users including diagnosing,troubleshooting and resolving any Camstar MES issues that may come up.Perform or assist in root cause investigations and MES changes/updates.Train users on how to use Camstar MES.Analyze and understand manufacturing business needs and translate those needs into: Supporting business case.

Software requirements and specifications for Camstar MES.

Process modeling in Camstar.

Reporting requirements and specifications for MES.Analyze and understand business needs from an end-to-end perspective, taking into account other projects.Participates in Kaizens and other process improvement activities while aligning them with the Business Solutions Roadmap.

The essential requirements of the job include:Bachelors degree with 2+ years of related work experience OR Masters degree in field with 0-2 years of related work experience.Microsoft Office and WindowsERP knowledgeStrong written and verbal communication skillsApple iOS, and Microsoft Windows troubleshootingAble to work well with end usersAbility to utilize strong analytical problem-solving skills to quickly resolve issues It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:Manufacturing Execution System experience such as Camstar.Experience with SAP.Working knowledge of Agile PLM or other PLM systems.Experience working in a medical device manufacturing company.
