Bloodworks: Laboratory Logistics And Inventory Specialist I

In this role, you will function as a member of the Cord Blood Program and Cell Therapy Laboratory (CTP) team by performing logistical tasks supporting the collection, receipt, processing, storage, and distribution of Hematopoietic cells (HPC) Cord Blood and Stem Cell products.

This position supports product inventory; including planning and administering product storage protocols, transferring frozen products, and distributing product samples for testing and products for transplant.

It also supports the maintenance of appropriate stock levels of reagents and materials for laboratory activities.

Other Responsibilities:Support in FDA-compliant hematopoietic cell (HPC) product handling.Support the distribution of manufactured HPC products (CBUs, segments, test samples) and CBUs for research use.Support the CTP department’s Records Management program.Support Department management and Laboratory and Collections staff in the investigation of any problems regarding samples and/or units being distributed from the Cord Blood Services department.Comply with all applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) as written.Perform other duties as assigned.REQUIREMENTS:EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Associate’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or business or inventory management OR one year of relevant experience (blood banking, inventory management, or related area).

Bachelor of Science degree preferred.Minimum one year experience in blood banking, biotech, pharmaceuticals, laboratory, inventory management, or related area preferred.SPECIFIC JOB SKILLS:Demonstrated knowledge of cGMPs, cGTPs and principles of Quality Assurance/Quality ControlWorking knowledge of AABB, FACT, NMDP and related FDA regulations preferred Bloodworks Northwest is an equal opportunity employer.
