The Logistics Specialist is responsible for managing logistics activities in a manner that shall meet business fulfillment requirements in parallel with the goal of transportation cost reduction.
The position is responsible for collecting and communicating all necessary information related to upcoming and ongoing shipments, projects, and services, as well as providing logistics support, consulting, and obtaining best possible transportation rates.Position Details:Location: Ft.

Freight Value/Claim Amount DataReporting and tracking of all claimsTraining of new employees and clients, if neededResearch and subject matter expertise in the field of logistics and transportationActively use either Allyn’s SAP software or use the software chosen per the clientAccurately issue shipping documentation such as certificates of origin, customs invoices, packing lists, and certificates of insuranceReliably track and expedite progress of specialized shipmentsActively look for an capture savings opportunities and added value opportunities when possibleActively participate in team meetings, conference calls, and daily project management calls with Allyn team and with the clientDepartment of Transportation (“DOT”) and other transport regulations compliance management, including permitting, over dimensional, and HazmatEliminate or minimize risk exposure for Allyn and customersTrack and resolve freight claimsMay be required to participate in industry publication and articlesAllyn is a privately-held professional services firm established in 1992.
