We have a Billing Clerk job with a retail energy company located in Downtown Houston.

Candidates must have a minimum of 2-3 years of previous working with a retail electric provider as well as customer billing experience.

This is a contract opportunity and the pay range for this position is $16/hr.-$17/hr.

6 months)Location: 77010DUTIES: Exercise independent judgment to review, analyze and resolve open work queues to enable accurate and timely invoicing of customers.Work with senior team members to compare and evaluate alternative courses of action.

Independently execute appropriate course of action to fully resolve issues.Provide customer level support by researching and responding to customer inquiries.Interact with external parties and internal departments, including Customer Care, Collections, Cash, Sales, Transaction and Data Management to resolve customer issues quickly and effectively.Review, analyze, and resolve unbilled cycles, including working with other functional groups as needed.Identify billing discrepancies and use discretion and judgment to take necessary actions to resolve.Demonstrate flexibility and aptitude for quick learning by cross-training across multiple markets and Billing systems.Ensure that all Sarbanes-Oxley (“SOX”) Key Controls and other company policies are followedMUST HAVES: Bachelor’s degree highly preferred but not requiredAt least 2-3 years of customer billing experienceRegulated and/or deregulated energy industry experience a plusProficient in MS Excel, Access, SQL, Siebel and Lodestar experience preferred but not requiredSUMMARY: Position: Billing ClerkPay Range: $16-17/hr.Duration: long-term contract (for approx.
