Sr Software Engineer
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, Sr.

Software Engineer, are to:
Developinformation systems by designing, developing, and installing software solutions;
Determineoperational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions;
Developsoftware solutions by studying information needs, conferring with users, and studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes;
Writehighly quality, efficient, maintainable andscalable code based on the specification
Investigateproblem areas;
Troubleshoot, debug, and upgradeexisting software;
Prepare, perform, and evaluatedeveloper tests (static code checking and dynamic tests);
Followthe software development lifecycle;
Documentand demonstratesolutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code;
Prepareand installsolutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming;
Estimateimplementation effort and perform feasibility checks of requirements;
Improveoperations by conducting systems analysis and recommending changes in policies and procedures;
Evaluate, develop, review, refinement, and documentation of software maintenance procedures;
Protectoperations by keeping information confidential;
Provideinformation by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues;
Accomplishengineering and organization mission by completing related results as needed (t his role will be located in Creve Coeur, MO.

More specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline;

At least five years of experience in solving challenging technical problems in two or more of the following areas:
Single page web application development;
Unix/Linux environment management;
Cloud based continuous delivery and environment management;
Mobile application development;
Micro-service design and development;
Large, distributed system development;
Software security;
Processing and analyzing large data sets;

At least three years of experience designing cloud-based software solutions or certification equivalent;
At least three years of experience with DevOps, microservices, and CI/CD practices and tools;
Practical experience and knowledge of industry practices;
Expertise in at least one technology or facet of product development (research, design, programming, testing);

Solid understanding of current technologies and trends including programming languages and cloud technologies;
Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree with at least three years of experience, or Ph.D.

with at least one year of experience);
Experience with React JS, TypeScript, Node.js, Material Design;
Experience with AWS tools such as AWS RDS, DynamoDB, SNS, SQS, Lambda, ECS, CloudWatch, CloudFormation.
