Telecom Field Operations Technician

iRis Networks is currently seeking to hire a Telecom Operations Field Technician.

iRis Networks is Headquartered in Nashville, TN.

A provider of wholesaleEnterprise telecommunications services, specializing in tower backhaul solutions for wireless carriers.

Our fiber network spans over 5,000 miles, reaching Tennessee and the surrounding states of Alabama, Georgia, and Kentucky.

Our network stimulates regional economic development through the connection of businesses and organizations regardless of size or location in the region.

This position will report to the VP of Operations Construction.

Job Location East TN West TN Essential Job Requirements Candidates must have proven experience in installation, administration, and maintenance of equipment located in the field and central office.

This may include voice, data, transport, outside plant, and video equipment.

Experience working on or around fiber transport equipment and performing fiber route maintenance.

Inspect and drive iRis Network s fiber routes.

Some working knowledge of fiber optic networks.

Test turn up and troubleshoot new and existing services.

(DS1, DS3, OC3-OC192, 101001000Mb and 10100 GIGE services).

Perform housekeeping and general maintenance of all iRis Networks assets including generators, huts, COLOs, and regens.

Perform quality inspections of contractor s work.

Perform inventory control functions on an as needed basis.

Test and approve used equipment.

Must have at least 1-3 years experience with transport, DACs, and test equipment.

Must have at least 2 years experience working on or around fiber transport equipment and fiber route maintenance.

Knowledgeable about industry standards and be able to follow those standards.

Interpret and understand CAD drawings and maps.

Must be detailed, have good documentation and report writing skills.

This position works from a home office and is provided a company truck.

This position will work closely with technicians in other assigned network territories.
