Piper Companies is currently seeking a Technology Manager who can shepherd projects through their complete lifecycles.
You will be working with a group of peers both in office and off-shore in the delivery of digital solutions for an international organization specializing in the communications and digital marketing.
Tasks and responsibilities include Stay current with emerging technologies and the digital landscape to contribute to the overall technical direction of technology Estimate hours and project time needs accurately, and actively participate in scope and requirements definition Create, support, and maintain functional and technical requirements as well as other business and project-based documentation Identify and resolve technical issues with your team proactively Participate in the identification, evaluation and selection of 3 rd party vendors Develop client team leadership for complex andor multiple projects Collaborate with a cross-functional team to develop initial concepts for projects and define scope, budgets and timelines Determine daily project status and manage client expectations Work closely with QA to manage the quality assurance process Participate in client discussions regarding status and provide technology insights, recommendations and solutions Create high quality and timely performance reviews and development plans Responsible for career development of direct reports To qualify, you’ll need bull Four year degree (Computer Science or equivalent preferred) bull 5-7 years of web programming, management or comparable experience bull 1-3 years of experience managing technical or operational teams bull Creative agency experience desired bull Proven track record as a technical leader bull Deep familiarity with the digital environment Excellent written and verbal skills Understanding of business and technical processes to enable technology solutions Ability to be flexible and tolerate ambiguity while still operating effectively Complete knowledge of QA processes and conventions Knowledge of project management methodologies, e.g., Scrum and Waterfall Ability to identify and communicate project and team risks to senior team members andor leadership Ability to demonstrate leadership in providing effective team approaches and processes Ability to decompose larger efforts into tasks for delegation to other team members This role is a contract to hire with an initial hourly rate of 50-60 commensurate upon experience.
