Technology Analyst

Position Summary Maintain a portfolio of one or more hardware andor software technologies, products, andor processes including standards of use, life cycles, andor product evaluation and integration.

Develop and maintain an in-depth pool of technical advice and expertise to provide information and guidance of the infrastructure assigned.

Specifically, this Analysts technology portfolio focuses on Microsoft SQL Server (and components or tools closely related to SQL Server), and Microsoft IIS.

Required Education Bachelor’s degree in in Computer Science, Information Technology or other job related degree, OR 4 ADDED years of job related work experience, OR 2 ADDED years of job related experience plus an associates degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other job related degree Required Work Experience 4 years of specific knowledge of the technology(s), product(s), andor processes to be supported.

o Technologies requiring this specific knowledge include Microsoft SQL Server (multiple versions, including versions from 2008 to current, and futureplanned-release versions), Microsoft IIS (multiple versions), and their deep integration with Microsoft Windows Server (multiple versions).

1 year directly supporting the technology(s), product(s), andor processes.

(may be concurrent) o Technologies requiring this direct support include Microsoft SQL Server (multiple versions), Microsoft IIS (multiple versions), and their deep integration with Microsoft Windows Server (multiple versions).

1 year directly supporting two or more of the following Microsoft SQL Server tools o Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services o Microsoft SQL Server Database Management Objects o Microsoft SQL Server Business Intelligence Development Studio Data Tools o Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio o Microsoft SQL Server Migration Assistant 1 year experience development using PowerShell 1 year experience performing web development 1 year experience in developing SQL queries 1 year experience managing security configurations for your technology, including ARS and NIST controls, and guidance by appropriate STIGs Required Skills and Abilities Knowledge of a variety of information technology products and solutions.

Excellent research, customer service, verbal and written communication, and presentation skills.

Strong attention to detail.

Good judgment.

Ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of the IT organization.

Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and to implement solutions.

Demonstrated analytical and decision-making skills.

Deep understanding of Windows permissions, including ACL, GPO, and ADUC.

Experience using Excel.

May schedule regular meetings, conference calls, or on-site visits with vendors andor stake holders to keep abreast of current technology(s), products, andor processes.

May review with vendor andor stake holders, known upcoming activities associated with their specific technology(s), product(s), andor processes.

Research and stay abreast of all information that may impact the lifecycle of any supported technology, product, andor process.

40 Facilitate the establishment, implementation, and maintenance of best practices, policies, standards, and desktop procedures to be used by the operational units to guide the use of each technology solution or product.

20 Establish and maintain effective working relationships and open communication with vendors, operations, architecture, andor management staff.
