Systems Engineering – Embedded Systems Design

If you fit this description, we want to speak to you.The candidate will have responsibility for the following in addition to adhoc assignments as needed.
– Develop embedded software in support of Carrier’s wall controls and thermostats
– Develop embedded software in support of Carrier’s HVAC equipment control systems
– Develop design documentation (sequence diagram, state charts, etc.) to help maintain our high-quality standards of embedded software
– Understand the software development life cycle
– Work effectively with various engineering functions/disciplines; systems, hardware, validation/reliability and manufacturing
– Demonstrate the ability to work within a project team
– Develop and execute unit test cases and functional test cases to ensure the quality and maintainability of your code
– Create prototypes and build test software to demonstrate the functionality
– Write specifications and test plans for software modules to help ensure high-quality software
– Participate in software design reviews, group readings, and team discussions
– Participates in capturing and clarifying embedded software requirements**KEY QUALIFICATIONS:**
– Understanding of C,/C++ programming languages
– RTOS or Linux experience
– Experience with software architecture and design patterns
– Familiarity with debugging
– Familiarity with Microchip, NXP, or ARM processors
– Experience with configuration/change management systems such as GIT, CodeCommit, Jira & Confluence (a plus)
– Intermediate level skills with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
– Organized with strong attention to detail, while managing multiple priorities
– Experience with model-based development (Matlab/Simulink) (a plus)
– Experience with various connectivity protocols (WiFi, Bluetooth, Z-Wave, Zigbee, etc.) (a plus)
– Experience with socket APIs (a plus)
– Linux/Android (a plus)
– Experience with ARM Microcontrollers (a plus)
– Model Based Development using IBM Rhapsody and Matlab/State Flow (a plus)
– Understanding of engineering principles and concepts (a plus)
– Knowledge of SharePoint (a plus)
