Systems Engineer II- Rich Media Specialist Location: Silver Spring, MD Clearance: Public Trust Responsible for daily facilitation of video conferences and briefs. Ensures facilities are operated in compliance with pertinent guidelines and regulations. Oversees evaluation of quality of operations and recommends corrective actions. Reviews and evaluates requirements and recommends plans for VTC upgrades by determining appropriate endpoints, video conferencing software/hardware, and work with audiovisual team, presentation techniques, and operational requirements. Responsible for on-site technical support of assigned customer audio and video, as well as Zoom, Cable TV, FDA TV, streaming and broadcasting incidents and service requests. This position will provide support and testing of all video and audio systems to determine the system functionality issues within the customer environment and will complete all assigned incident tickets to resolution. This position is responsible for building the customer relationship and ensures customer satisfaction. •Provide primary Video Teleconferencing (VTC) support •Provide users with a familiarization & refresher training •Set up VTC rooms to accommodate special user needs •Coordinate with project officers in the planning process to determine dates, proposed agenda, and special requests/ requirements •Routinely “Test and Monitor” equipment performance immediately reporting all equipment malfunctions ,VTC , as well as, Zoom, Cable TV, FDA TV, streaming and broadcasting disruptions to Management •In the event of equipment malfunction initiate trouble call with designated maintenance vendor and provide conscientious follow through to problem resolution •Maintain expertise in the use of VTC equipment/procedures as well as Zoom, Cable TV, FDA TV, streaming and broadcasting •Maintain the operation of point-to-point and multi-point video teleconferencing equipment •Maintain a working knowledge of web collaboration services and industry standard conference guidelines and teleconferencing protocols. Create, modify, maintain SOPs and various other documentation required. -Must be familiar with Service Now and able to take Tier 2 escalation tickets -Be able to find alternative temporary or permanent solutions to issues -Must be able to troubleshoot Qualifications Required 5+ years of experience with video teleconferencing equipment and capabilities, networks, policies, and network protocols required to plan, schedule, and conduct VTC services, Zoom, and broadcasting/streaming background. Position will support VTC, Zoom, and streaming live video for all FDA Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, Outlook, SIP H323 H264, Multicast/unicast, Polycom VTC units, Cisco VTC units, VCS Expressway CiscoTelepresence MCU (multipoint control unit), IPTV and Webcasting/streaming Must have demonstrated ability in installation, set-up and operation of computer systems applicable to networks (LANs/ WANs). Strong written and verbal communications internally and externally are essential. The ability research, analyze and compile standard video issues for escalation and attention within the client organization. Candidate should have appropriate knowledge of Audio/Visual technologies and infrastructure and functionality to effectively service customers. Candidate should have strong customer service skills and be able to diffuse and control escalated situations effectively to service the customer. Must be able to work in a fast paced and high stress environment. Must be available 24/7. Must be able to troubleshoot, research, and think outside of the box with little to no supervision.
