Sr. Software Engineer

Location Denver, CO Description We’re looking for a software engineer to be an individual contributor on the software engineering team, working on a range of technologies, including mobile and web, distributed computing, Internet of Things security, and more. You have a full understanding of data pipeline and services so that you can make the right call and bring the team along with you. You stay apprised of the latest news and technologies in the greater software development community and you share back with the team and advocate for adoption where it fits. Responsibilities This person is someone we can count on to… Own – Write clean, tested and extensible code – Review security standards holistically and not just in your code – Lead epics of work with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features – Proactively communicate any requirement changes that occur and align team on them – Comfortable debugging complex issues – Participate in the on-call rotation to support the platform Teach – Represent the Platform team in cross-functional planning meetings around upcoming epics – Share brown bag sessions of current industry best practices – Mentor engineers – Pair with other platform engineers as needed Learn – Understand all services and the data pipeline that comprises the platform – Advocate for changes to process – Work with cross-functional engineering team so you can better understand the implications of changes in their respective domain(s) to the platform – Remain apprised of current software developments best practices and trends Improve – Participate in code reviews – Contribute to Security standards to ensure they meet or exceed industry best practices – Contribute experience and knowledge during team discussions – Bring recommendations to Retros Knowledge, skills abilities – Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering or equivalent work experience – 6+ years of experience in a modern object oriented language – Strong understanding of object-oriented programming – Extreme sense of ownership – Self-driven and can work with limited direction – Ability to collaborate and work well with others in a high paced, fun environment – The ability to deliver high quality and effective solutions while balancing deadlines Contact mailto?subjectSr.20Software20Engineer20 This job and many more are available through The Judge Group.
