Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems is seeking a Sr.
Principal Database Lead engineer to manage a program Command and Telemetry (C&T) database team.
The C&T database team manages the state of health command and telemetry used during the development, testing, and operational phases of a program.
Candidate will be responsible for the development and management of the team schedule, budget, and work package.
Candidate will lead the development, management, integration, and delivery of the program bus and payload command and telemetry data used by the database stakeholders.
Candidate will act as primary technical interface and review/generate specifications and/or requirement documents for associated database products and supervision and guidance to less experienced engineers.
Job Responsibilities: Designing and developing relational databases Coding and utilizing SQL to perform data manipulation and extraction of data to create reports Developing interface control documents to control the C&T data formats and conventions Reviewing C&T data in unit equipment specifications and subsystem specifications Defining and integrating unit and subsystem data into the program C&T database Supporting the development of telemetry format tables and display pages Supporting the data management and configuration management of the program C&T database Providing support to C&T user organizations such as Integration & Test, Spacecraft SIM, Ground Element, and System Operations Qualifications Basic Qualifications: B.S.
in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university with 9 years of engineering experience or 7 years with a Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline Ability to obtain and maintain an SCI, DoD Secret and/or Top Secret Clearance with SSBI Preferred Qualifications: Active SSBI Clearance Space Vehicle or payload electrical design integration, cable & harness design, and/or command & telemetry database background with experience through the entire system lifecycle from concept, design, production, integration, test, launch, to operation support.
Detailed knowledge of electrical interface standards such as MIL-STD-1553, LVDS, RS-422, etc.
Detail-oriented and have excellent verbal and written communications skills, leadership skills, and organization skills Experience with vehicle electrical design and/or integration Experience working on electrical design and troubleshooting efforts.
Detailed knowledge of circuit simulation software such as PSPICE, and/or database management software such as Microsoft Access or ORACLE.
Experience with Mentor Graphics, Routed Systems Designer (RSD), and HarneSys, and/or CATIA V5 harness development tools
