Network Engineer What we need Wersquore partnering with a global leader in credit information and information management services.
This Sr.
Engineer will be working with businesses and consumers to gather, analyze, and deliver critical information needed to build strong economies around the world.
We help 45,000 businesses manage risk, and 500 million consumers understand and manage credit.
To do this, we rely on a network infrastructure thatrsquos critical to the business.
As our Network Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation and support of the Global Network.
You will provide technical leadership for our data and voice networks as well as define, maintain, communicate, and implement standards consistent with established architectures and strategy.
What we expect As a Network Senior Engineer, yoursquoll need to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with occasional conflicting priorities.
You must have the drive and skills to make the best decisions that align with the business and the companyrsquos objectives.
Responsibilities Uses knowledge of data networks to develop detailed engineering designs to meet the business as well as operational objectives Works closely with the business units to maximize the efficiency of the design by aligning to the current objectives as well as providing new insights into alleviating any complexities Defines and adheres to standard engineering designs, templates, processes and procedures for delivering projects that follow CLIENTrsquos reference architectures Provide design options and strategies (i.e.
option abc) that cater to specific business-driven requirements Proactively utilizes knowledge of the business units in an effort to maximize the efficiency of the solution Leverages industryrsquos best practices and applies them consistently in developing andor re-engineering designs Assessment and Strategy Provides subject matter expertise to maintain the appropriate lifecycle for the technologies in scope, including technology risk, refresh, migration and retirement Analyzes systems performance, modifying parameters to improve throughput and effectively utilize system resources.
Monitors resource usage, making required adjustments as necessary Follows proper well-established Change Management procedures Responsible for accurately estimating, planning, and executing Network related activities.
Relays detailed information to Network and Project Managers Establishes and maintains strong collaborative relationships with internal and external strategic partners as well as critical IT infrastructure service providers Evaluates and provides in-depth analysis and recommendations towards the selection Network Engineering and Operations tools Identifies key areas for improvement and develops a plan to align to strategic objectives.
Assists leadership by making recommendations in regards to architecture and infrastructure planning.
Assesses current methodologies and provides input for enhancement Support Resolves issues related to the coordination, control, design, support, and operation of technology components in relation to data and voice networks, including but not limited to LANs, WANs, SIP Trunks, and Data Center Interconnect technologies Plans, configures, tests, maintains, troubleshoots and tunes network infrastructure such as Routers, Switches, Firewall Systems, Multi-function switches, Virtual private networks, etc.
Leads resolution of issues related to the coordination, control, design, support, and operation of Network equipment supporting Local Area Networks (LANs), Wide Area Networks (WANs), Wireless, and Voice infrastructure Participates in andor leads projects of medium to high complexity Leads on-call production support activities by using appropriate problem-solving methods and leveraging strong Network technologies expertise Upon outage resolution, performs a detailed RCA (root cause analysis) and sets plans in motion to prevent and reduce the severity of outages Oversees and performs the installation and testing of upgrades working collaboratively with the systems and applications teams After a period of acclimation, participates in a 247 on-call rotation along with a number of other Engineers Professional Qualifications Excellent written and verbal communications skills able to communicate effectively with team members, support teams, project managers, customers, company vendors as well as senior management The candidate must be an all-around team player, must be able to collaborate effectively with different teams across the organization Ability to effectively summarize and clearly communicate infrastructure hardwaresoftware issues involving multiple support teams Ability to manage parallel projects in flight in a timely fashion without losing sight of quality and successful execution Organization skills are a must, need to be able to lead, follow through and complete projects within tight deadlines Self-motivated and adaptable to change able to work productively in a team setting Time management skills are critical.
Need to be able to prioritize and manage time effectively as well as function effectively with little to no supervision under tight deadlines Demonstrate competency in the use of project management tools and methodologies.

This person will be joining a team of 10 and responsible for delivering the network projects tied to that team.

Yoursquoll be responsible for working with different business units to develop the engineering design that supports the business and define the operational requirements for new and existing systems.
As part of playing a leading role in strategy, design and support, you will also mentor junior level engineers as well as provide second level support for complex issues, problems or projects.
