Lane Automotive’s Information Technology Department is comprised of a diverse, highly knowledgeable and collaborative team. As a member of the IT Team, you will work cross-functionally with our Analytics/BI, Application Development and IT Operations teams to develop and manage highly available SQL environment(s)/instances which support our enterprise and other internal applications.
Job Requirements:
Responsibilities:
· Administration of all Microsoft SQL Server (2012-2019) instances and databases, supporting ERP, WMS, Data Warehouse, and other internal applications
· Act as solutions architect for all Microsoft SQL Server instances, database designs and administration, including data modeling, storage requirements, resource requirements, and performance tuning
· Ensure all versions of Microsoft SQL Server are updated to the latest stable patches
· Perform upgrades and data migrations, as required
· Configure and maintain High Availability using Always-On Availability groups
· Configure and maintain SQL transactional replication to reporting, and other required database servers
· Coordinate with Infrastructure and Operations teams to review, maintain, and enhance current backup and disaster recovery strategies
· Implement and monitor effective and preventative database access controls and security
· Monitor and assess database health and performance, taking corrective and/or preventative measures when necessary
· Create, maintain, and optimize ETL processes and jobs – primarily using SSIS and Python
· Complete database change requests, including the creation and modification of databases, tables, views, stored procedures, and scheduled jobs
Requirements
· Advanced Microsoft SQL Server administration, performance tuning, T-SQL, and SSIS skills are required
· Experience implementing, supporting, and troubleshooting High Availability using Always-On Availability Groups
· Experience implementing, supporting, and troubleshooting backup and disaster recovery plans
· Technical expertise in SQL Server management within a virtualized environment
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s Degree in computer science and/or information systems, engineering, or similar degree, or a minimum of 7 years of proven experience in a role executing similar tasks as described above
· 5-7 years of experience in a role supporting multiple Microsoft SQL Server instances and databases
· Minimum 2 years of experience using one or more of the following scripting languages: PowerShell, Python, R
· Minimum 2 years of experience designing and creating ETL packages using SSIS
Nice to Have
· Experience managing SQL Server within a Microsoft Hyper-V environment
· Experience in data warehouse design and modeling
· Experience using and leveraging monitoring tools to monitor database and server health
