The Charter Technical Engineering Center (CTEC) facilities in Englewood, CO oversees the design and architecture of Charters multi-billion dollar network infrastructure.
We investigate, select, develop, and integrate technologies and solutions that meet the needs of the company for short, medium and long term initiatives.
This includes the delivery of the technology plan and future architecture for Voice, Video, Data, Optical, Commercial, Cloud, CPE, Network and Access.JOB SUMMARY Responsible for planning and implementing a web service infrastructure to support Charters next generation products.
This position will assist Charters transition to Internet delivered content, featured cloud based services, highly interactive HTML5, and native UIs across a variety of consumer electronics devices and set top boxes.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESActively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.Design, implement, monitor, enhance and troubleshoot systems in assigned areas.Analyze, revise and document difficulties in existing system logic.Test and review system designs.Mentor and guide the work of technical staff.Develop RESTful APIs for use by various backend services using Java technologies.Take ownership and make technical decisions on software development projects.Develop and implement software according to proposals.Estimate scope of work.Create project documentation.Implement software proposals.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSSkills/Abilities and KnowledgeAbility to read, write, speak and understand EnglishThorough understanding of software engineering and object oriented design principlesStrong and current development experience in Java and web technologiesAbility to take ownership and make technical decisions on software development projectsFamiliarity with dependency management and build systems like Maven and AntExperience working with open source software such as Spring, Google Guice, Guava, Tomcat, and NoSQL solutionsJava, Spring, some Python, Databases (Relational and NoSQL), RESTful web services, AWS, Micro services, SOAP web services, JMS, ESBs, XML, XSD, XSL, JSON, JavaScript, Apache open source libraries, Maven, Git, Eclipse/NetBeans/IntelliJ, continuous integration testing, shell scripting, RubyHands on approachEducationBachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.Related Work Experience Number of YearsSoftware Engineering 10PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSSkills/Abilities and KnowledgeAgile experienceExperience with AWS, micro services, and Netflix OSS toolsWORKING CONDITIONSOffice environment EGN601-CORP 299150 299150BR Here, employees dont just have jobs, they build careers.
