Job Description

The Software Engineering Executive exhibits a strong mix of team leadership, technical acumen, strategy, and vision.

This leader will build relationships with senior management to serve as a key partner in designing business strategies and implementing strategic changes across divisions.
This senior leader will be responsible for large, complex technical initiatives, and have a holistic view of the technical products and their business impact to the overall organization.

Most importantly, they will optimize and standardize development practices and processes to align with our overall technology strategy and direction, while cultivating and growing a technically sound and agile leadership team.
Lastly, this executive will inherit and oversee key components of the U.S.

Bank technology platform strategy including API gateways and governance, metadata services, aspects of our technology innovation program, and the Shield Console – a developer portal framework that supports distributed contributions to improve the end-to-end developer experience at U.S.

Bank.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
15 or more years of combined relevant leadership experience in organizational goal setting, with relevant strategic and technical experience
Preferred Qualifications
Excellent leadership, product management, tactical planning, vision, analytical, and writing skills
Ability to hire, develop, and promote technology leaders who master modern development processes and methodologies.
Familiarity with OKRs and the product model
Proven leader with a passion for building high-quality software solutions with extensive knowledge of information systems technology and software development processes and tools
Experience with and contributions to transformation and innovation programs in large technology companies.
Ability to collaborate with and communicate to the company leadership team on company strategy and initiatives
Demonstrated management, leadership and interpersonal skills with sound judgement, excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to drive decisions through consensus and influence
Experience managing distributed and cloud-based software systems and ensuring operational excellence
