This is a full-time remote (at-home) position based in the Milwaukee, WI or Austin, TX areas Sheet Music Direct (www.sheetmusicdirect.com) is looking for a talented and motivated Software Engineer to join us in revolutionizing the digital sheet music industry The successful applicant will have proven software engineering and development skills, experience working in an eCommerce environment, team leadership, defining specifications and preferably (not required) an active interest in music.

This role is 100% remote and based in the greater Milwaukee area or greater Austin area.
Based in the greater Milwaukee area or greater Austin area, the role will involve a range of tasks, including web application development, systems architecture development, API development, and UI/UX design.
The successful candidate will be able to write code that is readable, understandable and maintainable.

Essential Skills: MVC and Web Forms web application development 5 Years experience and excellent understanding of C# .Net programming and best practices Excellent understanding of API design and best practices Strong understanding of the Azure Platform of Services Experience overseeing Azure environments and deployment Excellent HTML/CSS/Javascript skills Experience with UI frameworks such as Bootstrap Understanding of and ability to use design patterns Refactoring Git VCS Ability to translate non-technical requests into technical solutions (and vice versa) Excellent problem-solving abilities Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively A willingness to expand and develop technical skills on an ongoing basis, keeping in touch with current industry trends and changes in technology Desirable Skills: TDD, preferably with NUnit Experience with CI software such as TeamCity or Jenkins/Hudson Musical background is a plus, but not required
