– DevTest (P3)Locations: Flexible on locationSummary of Role:The Defence Targeting Toolset (DTT) Software Engineer is responsible development testing of a large-scale application capability development, delivery and sustainment project, that has significant operational and strategic importance for the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) customer.The holder of this role will need to possess or be capable of possessing SC clearance with a view to increasing to DV in support of future roadmap development.Role Description:Raytheon’s DTT business provides an n-tier Rich Web Application, built on Service Oriented Architecture and comprising RESTful services delivering users with a single source-of-truth in collation and management of targeting data, including consumption of data from external services, distribution and guaranteeing consistency; thorough audit capability of decision making; automatic generation of reports; and an increase in operational tempo.Over the past 30 years, Raytheon has developed a deep understanding of Defence Intelligence missions through its involvement in multiple UK and international programmes, and has the domain knowledge and mission understanding crucial to the success of our customers.

Raytheon UK is looking for a dynamic and high performing Software Engineer with current MoD or Government experience to work within Raytheon’s DTT programme to deliver a large-scale application capability development, delivery and sustainment project that has significant operational and strategic importance for the UK MODThis is a challenging role that will be highly rewarding, with extensive communication and interfacing requirements with the programme stakeholders, demanding excellent interpersonal skills and high levels of energy and stamina.

The work location will primarily be based at Raytheon and Customer Sites with frequent visits to other company sites in the UK and occasional travel to the US.Main Duties:You’ll be working as a team of developers, testers and analysts that embraces Agile working to design, develop and maintain the DTT Application.This is an opportunity to innovate and try new things; to fearlessly challenge and question; to learn and progress in an inclusive and supportive culture; to be rewarded for the vital contribution you make.Specific responsibilities include:* Test design, execution, debugging and automation* Apply development test skills and experience within the context of an Agile software delivery team* Testing software in all phases of the development lifecycle from early concept demonstrators to the final product* Review product requirements and software documentation for testability and to ensure the consistency with software features and performance* Maintain automated test frameworks and scripts* Define and manage test environments; create and manage test data; define and manage test tools* Integrate test automation into the deployment pipeline* Create test artefacts and other related documentation* Support estimation of test activities* Promote test automation and best practices within the team and across projects* Support test team interactions with the wider development team and assist in the resolution of issues* Support the development team at formal and artefact reviews as necessaryCandidate RequirementsEssential:* Good knowledge and experience of Java and Javascript* Proven track record of using scripted test automation to improve quality, consistency, and coverage within a software development environment* Experience of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and integration with test* Experience in testing, and maintaining tests for web services* Demonstrable knowledge of creating and managing test automation frameworks* Experience of deploying and configuring complex software under Windows* Experience of working in an Agile/SCRUM/DevOps delivery modelDesirable:* Experience of test automation frameworks and tools such as Selenium (Nightwatch, Frameworkium), Cypress, Eggplant, PostMan, Cucumber, Robot* Experience of programming/scripting languages such as Perl or Python* Experience of Mapping, Geolocation, Symbology and Geographic Information SystemsBehaviour Skills* Good interpersonal skills for customer and end-user liaison* Good written and oral communication skills* Good time management, organisation, and prioritisation skills* An inquisitive mind and a desire to promote innovation* Desire to learn and constantly expand your horizons* Ability to work closely with others in a small team* Ability to work under pressure* High degree of initiative and flexibility* Willingness to travel if requiredRaytheon Technologies is An Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
