You’ll have an opportunity to work on world-class programs such as Orion, SBIRS, GPS-III, Commercial Vehicles, Deep Space Exploration, Classified Special Programs.
You will participate in the Software Systems Engineering (SWSE) activities for the Next Gen Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) mission area. You will be responsible for the derivation, update and maintenance of flight software requirements and Interface Control Documentation (ICD) and support the software verification test team. You will provide horizontal integration with counterparts in vehicle and program systems engineering, vehicle subsystems, chief engineer’s office, payload and ground to ensure software and systems compatibility. The successful candidate will understand the following concepts: full software development lifecycle, agile methodologies, systems thinking, and resiliency.
Job duties will include though are not limited to:
• Requirements generation, decomposition and flow-down
• Active participation in software system-level reviews
• Providing domain support for FSW Test design, Assembly, Test and Launch Operations (ATLO) and Flight Operations Support (FOS)
Typically has 2 – 5 years of professional experience.

Basic Qualifications:
•Experience in C++ programming
•Technical knowledge and experience with flight software requirements, design and development, systems engineering or spacecraft development engineering
• Experience interacting with multiple engineering disciplines
• Experience with authoring technical documentation
Desired Skills:
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience with Agile methodology
• Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with customers, management and peers
• Experience with architecture modeling, software configuration management and documentation tools
• Understanding of Model Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) concepts
• Knowledge of Cyber Security process, Risk Management Framework (RMF)
• Previous Space Based Infrared Systems (SBIRS) or OPIR specific experience
