Responsible for supporting the requirement of standardizing, strengthening and integrating global quality systems with procedures and training that meet our customers’ quality systems requirements and enables Meritor to more effective. Coach global sites on best practices, fulfill the role of subject matter expert with relation to ISO/IATF systems development and check for compliance through the implementation of site assessments. Support complex projects requiring innovative original solutions where results are key to successful completion.
Job Responsibilities:
• Strengthen and help integrate global quality management systems in compliance to the ISO 9001 and
• IATF 16949, customer and regulatory requirements.
• Lead / conduct ISO/IATF 16949 internal quality systems audits, drive corrective and preventative actions and assure effectiveness of actions taken.
• Support 3rd party audits at the manufacturing sites, as required, assisting with corrective action closure and certification management.
• Provide quality guidance to corporate design and development, purchasing, contract review and global sites to assure compliance to ISO/IATF16949 and consistent execution of AIAG core tools as required by Meritor and its customers.
• Streamline ISO/IATF16949 quality system and promote clear, complete, concise documentation of best practices. Develop documentation and training programs as needed to implement global quality system improvements.
• Provide coaching and assistance to the Business and Operating Units in their efforts to achieve/maintain ISO/IATF 16949 3rd party certification and improve business processes. Serve as subject matter expert on quality system requirements.
• Champion quality disciplines in corporate arena including effective problem-solving (8D, etc) and FMEA.
• Assure any validation failures or field issues are properly analyzed and documented to improve product reliability and meet regulatory requirements.
• Monitor the performance of problem solving using root cause analysis and orchestrate corrective action, utilizing analytical capabilities and communication skills
• Assure Document/Data Control & Accuracy (ISO/IATF 16959 compliance)
• Assures that data obtained during all quality activities is compete, accurate and documented consistent with company policies and procedures. Develop business process performance metrics as needed.
• Track and maintain a database of all Meritor metric reports, including but not limited to internal audit, third party audit, corrective action, and lessons learned, etc.
• Support other global complex projects and quality initiatives requiring innovative original solutions that help Meritor achieve AOP and quality organizational goals as assigned.
• Business contact for Meritor’s quality management software platform, MRS, working directly with information systems (IS) on design, development and maintenance of the application. Provide online and/or in-person training and facilitate adoption of the application globally.
• Support development, design, testing and troubleshooting of MRS modules and assist with utilization of current and existing modules.
Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality, industrial management or business.
• A minimum of 4 years of quality experience with at least 2 years of plant or product development and/or launch team experience required.
• Successful completion of ANSI/RAB accredited ISO/IATF 16949 lead assessor course or ASQ Certified
• Quality Auditor (CQE) or like program preferred.
• Familiar with ISO-9001, ISO/IATF 16949 and overall business systems requirements with global, multi-site organization, implementation experience preferred.
• Lead and perform internal audits and participation at 3rd Party Certifications.
• Developed and roll-out of Quality Systems and Procedures.
• Experience and understanding of software development processes
• Experienced in working with cross-functional organizations such as; procurement, program management, engineering and manufacturing on multi-functional projects.
• Comfortable and experienced with facilitating and coaching in quality systems to streamline and document processes compliant to ISO/IATF16949.
• Participated in the development and training of Quality System Processes to Business Units and Plant such as APQP, 8-D, etc.
• Lead and develop quality systems internal auditors.
• Experienced in all aspects of quality (corporate, business unit, laboratory, plant level, supplier, product development and launch, customer satisfaction, and warranty) preferred.
• Results oriented, analytical, strong work ethic.
• Ability to travel periodically to manufacturing sites in support in quality systems implementation.
