That’s it!

If applying for this position, please take a few minutes to read our reviews on Glassdoor (https://www.glassdoor.com/Reviews/Critical-Start-Reviews-E1571388.htm).

Include something about our Glassdoor reviews that made an impact when you submit your resume – can be positive or negative.

What can we offer you?

* An opportunity to drive significant shareholder, customer and employee value.* A constant stream of new things to learn.* Breadth and depth.

Do you want to make an impact?

The work you’ll do will directly impact the experience of our customers.* Highly talented and dedicated peers, all the way from Sales Engineering to Customer Support.* An open, supportive, and collaborative work environment.

Who you are?

You are a Django/Python developer who is very familiar with Python and Django.

What we mean by that is you can write Pythonic Django code, and you’ve read the Django documentation a couple of times.

You have experience writing production code and you understand what a Unit test is and more importantly what it isn’t.

You are incredibly clear what a QuerySet means and form validation isn’t a foreign concept to you.

You have a basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines and aren’t confused by what they mean.

You have some experience in setting one up.

You have a good understanding of Docker technologies and aren’t confounded by a Dockerfile, or “docker-compose” commands.

You have experience with Unix shell where simple commands don’t make you cringe.

More Unix shell experience is always welcome of course.

You will not be asked to take on a System Administrator role, just a developer who is comfortable with the command line.

You have about 2-5 years of Python/Django programming experience, a master’s degree (preferred) or a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.

If you have little Python/Django experience but you’ve made the switch from/to programming language/framework many times in the past, awesome!

We are very interested in speaking with you, please send specific examples of when these switches have happened in the past.

What you will be doing?* As a Software Development Engineer II, most of your daily work will involve translating mostly clear unambiguous requirements to code.

You’ll be primarily helping the team release new features, fix bugs, that sort of thing.

You’ll also help with one or two sub-components of the overall system.

You be working with a Senior Developer or Engineering Manager to create new microservices as appropriate, where you write more code and learn how to think about architecture concepts.

Our technology stack is simple * Python/Django – primarily for day-to-day programming.

This is our default stack for everything – mostly inertia.* Postgres, Memcached, RabbitMQ, Elasticsearch – the standard works.* Primarily everything on AWS, using AWS services by default.

We do maintain and build our own things, only when there is no other option.* Primary development occurs with Docker, and so do production deployments.* There is an incredible focus on API design and maintainable code, expect to provide and receive lots of feedback.

What’s the working environment like?

This job operates in a professional office environment, but we don’t take it too seriously.

Casual dress every day!

We have an open office, meeting and collaboration spaces, phone rooms, wellness rooms and a break room with a ping pong table, gaming machine, and shuffle board!

This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers and smartphones and we work in an extremely fast paced, fun environment.

In addition, we provide reasonable accommodations to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

What does our Comp and Benefits package look like?

* Competitive salary with bonus opportunity* Employee Stock Options* Employee Healthcare 100% paid for employees/50% for dependents* Dental & Vision Plan* Employer Paid Life Insurance and Long-term Disability coverage* Voluntary Short-term Disability and Additional Voluntary Life Insurance coverage* Unlimited PTO plan* 401k plan with matching program
