Senior Systems Engineer- Privileged Access Management (Remote)

Position Purpose:

As a Sr. Engineer in Privileged Access Management team at Home Depot you will have a crucial role in the transformation and implementation of CyberArk (EPM) endpoint priveleged management solution. Working on a security engineering team, the successful candidate is expected to evaluate, build and innovate on our Privileged Access Management solutions that help improve our cybersecurity posture.

In this role, you would be responsible for supporting the design & implementation, managing, and monitoring the cybersecurity solutions, specifically Privileged Access Management solutions during the run and maintain phase to secure Administrative and Privileged access to enable enterprise to securely manage access.

An ideal candidate will require to partner and work with cross functional teams across the company to continually optimize our security posture while maintaining hyper-focus on the reliability and stability of our security and enterprise applications.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities:
30% Delivery & Execution –
Keeps abreast of innovations and industry trends as well as changes to internal systems and determines how they impacts tools, training, and support necessary to keep systems up, running, and secure; Participates in and contributes to learning activities around modern systems engineering core practices (communities of practice); Proactively views articles, tutorials, and videos to learn about new technologies and best practices being used within other technology organizations

15% Learning –
Keeps abreast of innovations and industry trends as well as changes to internal systems and determines how they impacts tools, training, and support necessary to keep systems up, running, and secure; Participates in and contributes to learning activities around modern systems engineering core practices (communities of practice); Proactively views articles, tutorials, and videos to learn about new technologies and best practices being used within other technology organizations

20% Planning & Analysis –
Researches and analyzes business trends and behavioral data to identify opportunities for improvements and new initiatives; Drives the evaluation, development, and recommendation of specific technology to provide cost-effective solutions that meet THD requirements; Researches and designs best fit infrastructure, network, database, cloud, AI, and security architectures for products; Proactively creates and maintains tools for monitoring and support; Participates in project planning and reporting across multiple efforts

35% Support & Enablement –
Collaborates with product and project teams to understand needs and enable them with infrastructure; Supports technology architecture design review efforts for project and product teams; Leverages tooling and custom applications to monitor the operational status of applications, infrastructure, networks, databases, and security; optimizes and tunes performance as appropriate; Drives root cause analysis, debugging, support, and post-mortem analysis for security incidents and service interruptions; Maintains, upgrades, and supports existing systems and infrastructure to ensure operational stability; Opens and manages vendor problem tickets to resolution; Drives the production of in-house documentation around solutions; Provides application support for software running in production; Drives moving KB articles to infrastructure as code models; Drives keeping monitoring/alerting up to date

Standard Minimum Qualifications:
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Education Required:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor’s degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Years of Relevant Work Experience:
4 years

Physical Requirements:
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Additional Qualifications:
1+ year of previous leadership experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Senior Engineer on the privileged access management team specifically focused on CyberArk solutions (i.e., Core Privileged Access Security, Endpoint Privilege Manager, Application Access Manager, Privileged Session Manager, Privileged Threat Analytics, etc.)
  • Experience in Privileged Account Management with CyberArk PIM Administration
  • Experience with the CyberArk EPM and Alero solution is a plus
  • Experience with PAM Operational tasks – Defining Access Control, User Entitlements, Manage Applications Credentials, User Access Policy Management.
  • Drives privileged access management initiatives to improve our  security posture, demonstrated by innovation and metrics
  • Owns the configuration, administration, and maintenance of CyberArk solution, including both the infrastructure as well as the application itself
  • Develop process for management of credentials, including those that are interactive, non-interactive, API-based, etc.
  • Extensive knowledge of CyberArk components: EPV, PVWA, PSM, PSMP, PTA, AAM
  • Preferable knowledge of CyberArk EPM
  • Knowledge of LDAP/Active Directory, and relevant IT architecture experience.
  • Knowledge and understanding of APIs, specifically RESTful APIs, and familiarity with service-oriented architecture and web services integration.
  • Knowledge of web technologies (XML, HTML, SPML/SOAP, etc.), PowerShell, SaaS applications, network operations (networks, protocols and email.)
  • Knowledge of both Windows and Unix platforms, with programming (PowerShell, etc.) a plus.
  • Knowledge of relational databases (Oracle, MS SQL Server, etc.).
  • Familiarity with identity and access management (IAM) concepts, such as identify lifecycle management, password policies, RBAC/ABAC, least privilege, etc.
  • Engages in continuous tool improvement, process improvement and quality control
  • Owns the relevant documentation and training required for privileged access management solutions and processes
  • Understands risk and communicates clearly and concisely
  • Effectively communicates issues/risks, options, pros/cons, and recommendations to drive change and overcome obstacles
  • Stays current on security trends and industry best practices, providing input and recommendations based on research
