Join the ChristianaCare family for endless personal and professional growth opportunities while collaborating alongside our development and clinical experts to create innovative solutions that positively impact our community’s health and well-being.PRIMARY FUNCTION:Performs design and analysis for wired and wireless network infrastructure projects (design, implementations and installs), maintains, and monitors wired and wireless network hardware and software, and provides technical support to Information Services personnel and to the corporate community.This role is part of a larger Network team with many specialties.

In this position the emphasis will be on wireless networking, however an overall networking background would be expected.

This would include an understanding of the OSI model.

Knowledge of switching and routing technologies in a multi-site, large campus environment would be expected.

Experience with WLAN’s is expected, including an understanding of wireless network concepts such as SSID’s, 802.1x, PSK, RF levels, SNR, Channel Utilization and 802.11a/g/n/ac/ax.Members of this team are required to rotate through a 24 x 7 on call schedule, one week at a time for approximately 6-7 times per year.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:* Performs Tier 1-3 problem determination for the wireless network.* Analyzes and installs wireless data and/or voice communication hardware and software; ensures that new software releases and updates are thoroughly tested before implementation and keeps accurate system documentation.* Monitors wireless data and/or voice network performance and capacities (hardware and software) and makes change recommendations to optimize the network’s performance.* Participates on Information Services teams to advise and review on the appropriate solutions to the health care/business problems.

Performs the wireless data and/or voice network equipment analysis for the installation and implementation of network projects.* Maintains good communications at all times, provides technical assistance, support, education, training, manuals and standards for Information Services staff.* Is self-motivated to learn and apply the basics of the data and/or voice network equipment, applications and tools.* Documents device changes on blueprints and updates the network diagrams and databases as required for projects.* Identifies the need for, and defines new standards or procedures as required.* Performs other related duties as required.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:* Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, and at least 5 years’ experience in a wireless networking position.* An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.* Experience with AutoCAD or similar software would be beneficial* Experience with wireless troubleshooting tools such as Air Magnet, Ekahau, etc.* Experience with Aruba 72xx controllers in a high availability configuration.* Experience with Aruba 100,200,300,500 series access points.* Experience with Aruba Airwave and Mobility Master wireless applications.* Experience with support of Clearpass for private key distribution.* Able to support & troubleshoot various wireless spectrum issues, including but not limited to channel allocation and interference, client side CPU & wireless network performance.* Experience with automated patching and configuration management.* Experience with Extreme Networks devices a plus.* Experience with VMware 6.5 or newer a plus.* On-Call Responsibility.* NC2Post End DateMar 31, 2022EEO Posting StatementChristiana Care Health System is an equal opportunity employer, firmly committed to prohibiting discrimination, whose staff is reflective of its community, and considers qualified applicants for open positions without regard to race, color, sex, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, genetic information, gender identity or expression, age, veteran status, disability, pregnancy, citizenship status, or any other characteristic protected under applicable federal, state, or local law.ChristianaCare is committed to prioritizing the health and safety of our patients and caregivers.
