Senior Systems Engineer

The systems engineer has the responsibility of administrating, maintaining, monitoring, expanding and troubleshooting our 24×7 converged infrastructure in multiple data center locations.

bull Communicate clearly with peers as well as management and provide technical leadership to junior admins bull Perform hands-on analysis of the production systems, fault resolution, capacity planning and root cause analysis for critical issues bull Analyze and resolve performance issues, capacity issues bull Proactively monitor the systems to ensure high availability services with minimum downtime bull Participate in on-call rotation supporting systems after-hours, weekends and holidays bull Manage and escalate cases to vendors for problem resolution bull Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning bull Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required bull Build tools to automate processes and operate production systems bull Act and work both independently and in a team environment bull Performs all other job related duties as requested bull Expert technical leadership in the design, implementation and management of our Microsoft WindowsVMware based environment bull Management of AWS components bull Strong understanding of data center design and principles
– hosting experience a plus bull Ability to plan, scope and estimate work effort to produce high quality deliverables on timeon budget bull Expert level understanding of Microsoft active directory principles and design bull Expert level of VMWare and datacenter infrastructure design bull Exceptional interpersonal skills ability to speak clearly and with authority bull Intellectual curiosity and the ability to learn new concepts quickly and efficiently bull Highly solution focused strong sense of urgency with a passion for 100 availability bull Tenacious problem solver under pressure bull MS powershell or similar scripting language Required Skills bull B.S.

in Computer Science, related field or comparable job experience bull 7 years of progressive experience with large scale technical infrastructure including on-premise, public cloud andor private cloud bull 7 years experience managing all aspects of Active Directory bull 5 years experience with Powershell bull 5 years experience with Linux bull 5 years experience managing AWS environment bull 5 years experience managing and supporting an enterprise ESX environment, including vROPS and Update Manager bull 3 years experience Converged Infrastructure experience bull Must be able to think outside the box bull Strong Customer Service skills bull Strong understanding of Backup and Recovery methodologies, including Disaster Recovery bull Extensive experience operating highly-available, high-volume environments using primarily Microsoft based solutions bull Working knowledge of security principles as related to infrastructure management
