Senior Software Engineer (.NET)

The Senior Software Engineer (.NET) is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining windows, web, and web services based retail software applications.

These applications fulfill critical business needs and directly impact our customers as well as our customers’ guests.

Current systems include back office (inventory, accounting, reporting, integrations) and point-of-sale (full register and mobile).

This is an exempt, non-supervisory position, reporting directly to the Software Development Manager.Primary responsibilities include:Architecting and designing applications to balance customer and internal (support and maintenance) needsMentoring, sharing knowledge, and helping ensure clean coding patternsDeveloping and testing complex Windows applicationsWorking in a team-oriented environment to accomplish high-level business goalsContributing solutions to issues and problems across product areasProviding progress updates and following through on commitments to the team to meet deadlinesWorking with business users to define requirements for applications and suggesting improvementsWorking with Support team members to diagnose and resolve customer inquiriesCommunicating with third parties about integration and software certification projectsAdhering to policies regarding Development Life Cycle, IT controls, and changing control for all developmentComplying with all company personnel policies and practices as well as all federal, state, and local standards/requirementsOther duties as assignedEffective listening and communication skillsShould be highly adaptable, detail-oriented, and able to work autonomouslyUse of business-oriented approach of understanding development goals from a customer perspective and how individual tasks contribute; use of cater-development approach to improve those resultsAbility to build relationships and work collaborativelyAbility and desire to problem-solve, prioritize, and multi-task in a fast-paced environmentStrong desire for continuous learning and personal growthExperience/knowledge:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or other related field combined with three years of software development experience; or equivalent combination of education and experienceExposure to Agile MethodologyExperience with the development, selection, and implementation of application frameworks and enterprise design patternsExperience with object oriented .NET (C#, ASP.NET, MVC, WCF) design and developmentExperience with Visual Studio and ResharperFamiliarity with SOA design patternsStrong understanding of SQL, T-SQL and databasesC++, Websockets, JSON, and client side frameworks experience is a plus
