Description
We are looking for a system design engineer who is responsible for the design and deployment of systems, which carry out calibration and performance validation of the hardware product line.
You will be responsible for the full spectrum of the lifecycle of the test system
– from prototyping to deployment at mass production.
You will work closely with other groups to define calibration and test procedures, and design high precision instrumentation & systems to be able to perform this efficiently in a factory environment.
You will:

• Touch every aspect of a system, including HW design, SW development, vendor engagement, algorithm optimization, data mining and factory deployment.
• Work collaboratively with a creative and diverse team of experienced engineers from all disciplines including Systems Hardware, Product Design, Reliability, Software and Operations.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Design, specification, development and deployment of touch calibration and test systems
- Equipment calibrate and verify performance for use during new product introduction
- Design, develop, optimize, review and debug software in C/C++/Objective-C used in interacting with embedded systems
- Specify and acquire instruments, components and tools for use in a NPI environment
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to specify and implement test coverage
- Run simulations or experiments to make data driven decisions and presenting results to senior management
- Deploy calibration and performance verification stations throughout the NPI cycle
- Generate reports that analyze large amounts of NPI touch sensor performance data
- Debug devices from the system level down to the component level
- Redefine existing algorithms to optimize them for performance or execution time
- Balance decisions between engineering asks and manufacturing efficiency while ensuring product quality
REQUIREMENTS
- Required Experience
- BS in CE/EE/Physics
- Strong programming skills in one or more of the following: C/C++/Objective-C
- Experience in one or more source control systems like Git/SVN
- Experience in product design of an electronic system and/or knowledge of touch sensing systems
- Experience with processing data using tools like MATLAB
- Ability to work well in a collaborative, highly cross-functional and fast paced environment
- Strong English written and verbal communication skills
- Preferred Experience
- MS in CE/EE/lmaging/Physics
- 3+ years of professional experience with at least 1 year in the touch sensing Industry
- Experience with Matlab and image processing algorithms
- Experience with plotting, processing and mining data in Matlab/Perl/Ruby/Python
- Experience with Xcode
- High volume consumer electronics calibration, testing and manufacturing experience
- Knowledge in one or many of embedded systems, hardware automation and motion control
