How will this role have an impact?
The Senior Software Engineer-Data will be developing highly scalable enterprise apps and web services that are a key part of Signify Health”s ecosystem.
What will you do?
- Engineering highly scalable, distributed web services & applications
- Work on enterprise services and applications
- Work in a fast-paced group
- Responsible for the security and privacy of all protected health information that may be accessed during everyday work activities
- Deliver high-quality code to production
- Develop brand new RESTful or Event-Driven services
- Building and optimizing big data data pipelines, architectures and data sets
- Be a strong mentor and coach to others
We are looking for someone with:
- 8+ years of experience in the engineering field as a software engineer
- Experience designing, implementing, and supporting highly scalable applications and web services.
- 2+ years of experience with Go is highly preferred, Java (e.g., completable futures, distributed sync) and Python.
- Strong Debugging Skills
- Ability to understand and refactor large pieces of code
- Experience with Amazon AWS services (e.g., SNS, SQS, Kinesis, Lambda, DynamoDB, S3)
- Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases
- Experience building and optimizing big data data pipelines, architectures and data sets
- Conversant with tools for coverage, memory sanitization, performance instrumentation/management
- Experience working with modern server technologies and distributed systems (e.g., non-blocking IO, distributed storage, concurrency, distributed consensus)
- Experience working with API documents, calling APIs using scripts, and testing APIs
- Good understanding of the Secure Software Development Life Cycle (SSDLC)
- Knowledge of Agile-support tools such as Jira, Confluence, BitBucket, Bamboo, etc.
- Experience working in environments where Agile, Scrum / Kanban, DevOps, TDD, BDD, and Shift Left work practices are used and champion of these methodologies, leading and encouraging the practice of them
- Experience with distributed version control systems (e.g., Git)
- Bachelors in Computer Science or a related field
