There are multiple positions available.As a Missile Defense National Team Mid-Level Software Development Engineer, you will support the development, integration, verification, and test of the C2BMC. C2BMC National Team program is the system integration piece of the Ballistic Missile Defense System which defends the United States homeland and its regional allies all over the world.  Be a part of our passionate and highly-motivated team who are excited to be on the forefront of defense of our nation.Primary Responsibilities:This is a software development role. Your duties will include (but are not limited to):Developing and maintaining code and integrates software components into a fully functional software systemDeveloping, documenting and maintaining architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systemsServing as a developing subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulationsServing as a Senior Team Member supportingYou will be expected to drive the design, architecture and approach. You will:Develop, select, tailor and deploy software processes, tools and metricsExecute and document software research and development projectsAccuracy and accountability are key. You will be expected to:Track and evaluate software team and supplier performanceDevelop software verification plans, test procedures and test environmentsYou will work under minimal direction in a team environment.Individual must be capable of working both independently and in a team environmentIndividual must have strong coordination, organization, teaming and communication abilities along with developing horizontal integration skillsThis position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. (Colorado Springs, CO)This position may require the ability to obtain access to an MDA facility. Access to the facility requires a background investigation by U.S. government authorities. This is a sensitive/safety-sensitive position and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing.This position requires candidate acceptance by industry partner resource control boardThis position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)Required Qualifications:Currently possess a Technical Bachelor’s, Master’s or a PhD degree? (A technical degree is defined as any four year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study).5+ years’ experience with development of C/C++, java, and/or Linux Operating Systems3+ years’ experience  in full software development life-cycle3+ years’ experience with software development and configuration management (CM) toolsPreferred Qualifications (Desired Qualifications):DoD 8570 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA) is a plusExperience in all aspects of designing and implementing a system (requirement development, System architecture, Software design, software testingSoftware design and development experience for Java-based application operating in a UNIX/Linux platform environmentExperience with Eclipse, Maven, Git, JIRA, Confluence and other open source development tools is highly desiredSoftware testing and documentation experience is desirableTraining/Experience Windows, Linux, and VMWare PlatformsTraining/Experience Agile + Lean S/W Development Tools and Methods (DevOps Environment)Training/Experience Information Assurance ImplicationsExperience automating testingFamiliarity with Systems Engineering design artifacts Use Cases and SysML diagramsExperience with development/performing automated installs with AnsibleKnowledge of BMDS and C2BMC in particular would be very helpful for the successful candidateObject-Oriented development patterns, principles and implementationService Oriented Architecture development principles and implementationSoftware architecture and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD)Experience with VMWare systems administration and installingTypical Education/Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years’ related work experience, Master+7 years’ related work experience). The system provides capabilities to integrate and synchronize missile defense systems and operations, providing a layered defense against multiple ranges of threats and in all phases of flight.The Missile Defense National Team – Engineering (NT-E) develops systems engineering solutions for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) and our nation’s Missile Defense System (MDS). The MDS is an integrated, layered architecture that provides multiple opportunities to destroy incoming missiles and their warheads before they can reach their targets.
