Senior Software Engineer

We are seeking a Simulations Software Engineer to become an integral part of our team at NASA Ames Research Center’s Simulations Laboratory working with the world’s largest Full Motion Simulators. You will be responsible for creating and modifying computer application software or specialized utility programs. Aerospace engineering or pilotingflight training background and experience with flight simulators is a plus. The company has a financial support system for those engineers who are interested in enhancing their skill set Responsibilities Develop software solutions for a variety of client needs and experimentation platforms Collaborate with other developers to design and optimize code Create flowcharts and user guides for new and existing programs Document programming tasks and procedures Required Qualifications 1-3 years experience in software development, computer engineering, or other related fields Strong knowledge of Java and CC++ Excellent problem solving, communications, and organizational skills Experience creating and driving best practices in software development workflows (git, jira, etc.) A desire to create well-documented and testable code Deadline and detail-oriented Strong analytical and critical thinking skills Interested in enhancing hishers knowledge and skills in AI, Cloud and other emerging technologies Desired Skills Elements of Artificial Intelligence Machine learning and Deep Learning in the contest of autonomous UAVs Elements of Cloud Computing Strong knowledge of Python Previous experience with simulations software Experience with real-time systems Additional Desired but not Required Skills Middleware DDS, HLA, or TENA for supporting distributed and real-time simulations Object Oriented Analysis (OOA) and Object Oriented Design (OOD) applied to software and systems and subsystems.
