About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Information Technology.

We are looking for an Site Reliability Software Engineer who enjoys and thrives on solving complex problems through innovation impacting change at scale in a diverse environment. You will join a focused team of Site Reliability Engineers introducing and advancing Site Reliability Engineers discipline across several hundred applications and multiple vertical lines of business supporting the entire firm. The team will drive technology transformation and adoption of Site Reliability Engineers aligned enterprise capabilities and products, launch new tooling enablement, automate away complex issues and integrate with the latest technology. Site Reliability Engineers leverage their experience as software and systems engineers to ensure applications onboarded to Site Reliability Engineer are available, have full stack observability, introduce continuous improvement through code and automation, provide operational insight through analytics, continuously test, are integrated with CI/D and work with application teams to ensure products and service we provide are always on.

The Site Reliability Engineer will work within Wells Fargo Platform Management team partnering across platform teams, development teams, product owners, scrum masters, and with other technology centers of excellence. They are responsible for engineering new solutions (automated and procedural) to improve platform and application stability, performance, staff productivity, metrics and reporting; ensuring all availability, architecture, quality, security, support and risk/compliance standards are met. It will include both collaborating with other teams to accomplish the solutions and in other cases creating the solution.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within technical domain environments
  • Contribute to large scale planning of strategies
  • Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs associated with technology domain, including upgrades and deployments
  • Review moderately complex technical challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of technologies and procedures
  • Resolve moderately complex issues and lead a team to meet existing client needs or potential new clients needs while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, or compliance requirements
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve technical challenges and achieve goals
  • Lead projects and act as an escalation point, provide guidance and direction to less experienced staff

Required Qualifications, US:

  • 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 4+ years of application production support experience
  • 3+ years of build-deploy automation and configuration experience within the Linux and Unix environment
  • 3+ years of platform engineering experience
  • 3+ years of scripting and automation experience
  • 3 + years of enterprise Splunk engineering experience
  • 4 + years of Middleware experience
  • 2 + years of ServiceNow experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills-default
  • Technology 1+ year of Salesforce experience
  • Technology Cloud computing experience
  • A BS/BA degree or higher-
  • Ability to be flexible and adjust plans quickly to meet changing business needs
  • Ability to grasp complex business issues quickly, recommend solutions, and drive for resolutions
  • Knowledge and understanding of web systems: applications
  • Knowledge and understanding of web systems: architecture or design
  • Knowledge and understanding of web systems: physical, logical, hardware, and software
  • Knowledge and understanding of web systems: security applications and systems
  • Knowledge and understanding of web systems: web application installations, upgrades, and deployments
  • Knowledge and understanding of Windows OS administration
  • Knowledge and understanding of technical documentation: for technical design documentation used by engineering teams
  • 4+ years of IIS experience
  • Ability to manage SSL certificates processes ranging from monitoring SSL certificate expiration dates, ordering certificates, and installing certificates on servers in a timely manner to assure product availability
  • Knowledge and understanding of lifecycle management, including implementation, maintenance, patching, health checks, capacity planning, and decommissioning
  • Knowledge and understanding of technology installation: configuring and troubleshooting middleware on servers
  • Knowledge and understanding of technology support: operational support for middleware instances and applications configuration
  • Messaging Queue (MQ) experience
  • Mutual Authentication experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of Python, Ruby, PowerShell, and Shell scripting
  • 3+ years of development experience with one or more of the following: Java, C++, C#, C, or .NET
  • Experience with one or more software development languages: Java, JavaScript, Ruby, Python, JSON, Angular, NodeJS
  • Experience with one or more CI/CD and Automation tools: Jenkins, Gradle, Maven, Git, SonarQube, Artifactory, Ansible, Puppet, Apigee
  • Experience with one or more Observability/Monitoring tools: Elastic, Kibana, Grafana, AppDynamics, New Relic, DataDog, Kafka, CloudWatch, Jaeger, Zipkin, Big Panda, Splunk, TrueSight
  • Experience with one or more Testing Frameworks: Selenium, JMeter, Blazemeter, Performance Center, Perfecto, Cucumber, Gherkin, ALM, Gremlin, Chaos Monkey, Chaos Toolkit, Simian Army, Toxi Proxy
  • Experience with one or more Data/Data Structures: Kafka, Apache Airflow, Logstash, Spark, Oracle, SQL, Mongo, Hadoop, Cloudera, AWS EMR, S3
  • Knowledge and understanding of complex enterprise systems and frameworks including frontends, middleware, services layer, database, backend and downstream interfaces

  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays as needed or scheduled
  • Flexibility to work in a 24/7 environment, including weekends and holidays
