Senior Product Manager, Photopolymer Hardware

The Product team at Desktop Metal oversees product management and marketing across our portfolio of metal, composite, photopolymer, wood, and sand 3D printing solutions.

We are responsible for understanding the needs of the customer and use these insights to define and launch products that help businesses realize the transformational impact of additive.

From the local machine shop to the global Fortune 500 manufacturer, we aim to deliver innovative, industry leading products that bring additive manufacturing for mass production mainstream.

ABOUT THE JOB

Desktop Metal is seeking a talented and self-motivated Senior Product Manager who is passionate about new manufacturing technology and excels at bridging the technical and business worlds to deliver innovative products to our customers.

You will join the Product team at Desktop Metal to lead cross functional teams to define, bring to market, and manage the roadmap of our innovative, leading photopolymer additive manufacturing hardware solutions to meet the needs of our customers and our business.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead prioritization and requirements definition for photopolymer additive manufacturing solutions; ensure we have the right pre
  – and post-processing accessories available to deliver an ideal, turnkey customer experience
• Synthesize customer / market learnings and work with key stakeholders across engineering, marketing, customer support, and sales to evolve and execute on our photopolymer product roadmap across customer segments
• Engage with customers and prospects to define market opportunities for new products and features
• Partner with marketing, sales, and finance to set positioning, messaging, pricing and go-to-market strategy for product and feature launches
• Create and manage marketing and sales collateral, including driving competitive analysis and product documentation
• Assess complementary hardware solutions and vendors and develop a range of potential strategic, third-party partnerships

REQUIREMENTS

• 5+ years of product management experience (or closely related experience) required, ideally in a fast-paced environment such as a venture-backed startup
• BS in relevant field required; engineering background and/or MBA preferred
• Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to develop and execute complex plans to reach the product’s and Company’s objectives
• Proven track record of managing multiple workstreams and moving between technical product requirements and high-level business strategy
• Detail oriented while also able to summarize and consolidate data into meaningful recommendations and actionable next steps
• Strong project management skills to keep cross-functional teams aligned and provide robust documentation throughout the product lifecycle
• Familiarity with 3D printing or other manufacturing processes is preferred; experience in healthcare, automotive, consumer products, or industrials a plus
