Senior Network Engineer

Overview :The Network Engineer is responsible for designing, developing and maintaining complex networks and security within the organization.

The Engineer will establish and maintain network and security performance by building network configurations and connections, troubleshooting network problems and developing policies and procedures to keep the organization’s data secure.

The Engineer will support all new and existing network hardware, software and communication links.Responsibilities:POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:Experience with network design, engineering and administration of complex networks.Experience with Cisco products including most routers, firewalls, wireless, switches, intrusion prevention, and other products is essentialExperience with Cisco software including Duo MFA, Umbrella, FirePOWER, ISE (Radius and TACACS+, Profiling), and StealthwatchAbility to configure and install firewalls, IPS, and other network devices and softwareProactively monitor, analyze and isolate company network, voice, data and wireless issuesServe as Backup POC for emergency outages, scheduled network outages and other emergent IT situationsDevelop and maintain standards on network security in accordance with NIST or CIS ControlsDevelop and maintain standards on network monitoring and performance metricsResolve issues escalated from Helpdesk, Network Services, or ManagerMaintain the network infrastructure, VPN gateways, , firewalls, intrusion detection systems, security updates and patchesMaintain network performance by performing network analysis, troubleshooting network problems and escalating issuesEvaluate network and security technologies for potential implementations to organizations infrastructureEnforce security policies and monitor network usage and accessUpdate practical job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications and knowledge transfersProtect organization’s value by keeping IT information, such as network, configuration and infrastructure practices and knowledge, secure and confidentialMentor team members on technical issuesPerform all other duties as assignedQualifications:REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Bachelor Degree in an information technology or related field or equivalent technical degree/certificationSeven (7) years of experience in a Network Engineer role in a large local area network environmentStrong Knowledge of Cisco technologies including but not limited to firewalls, IPS, switches, routers, and wireless.PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Ten (10) years of experience in a Network Engineer role in a large local area network or a similar mixture of experience and education/certifications.CCNP or equivalent experienceStrong Knowledge of Cisco ASA, FirePOWER, FMC Management, and Cisco ISESolarwinds Network Performance Monitoring and Netflow ExperienceExperience in Microsoft operating systems including 2016 Server and 2010 workstationExperience with Virtualization technologyKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:Excellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent interpersonal skillsExcellent organization skills and detail orientedExcellent problem-solving skillsAbility to balance multiple priorities to meet expected response deadlinesAbility to work independently and as a member of a teamAbility to follow established process flowsAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholdersDemonstrated knowledge of switching and routing technologiesDemonstrated knowledge of network security technologiesPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Location of job activities 100% insideNoise and/or vibrations exposureFrequently reach (overhead), handle, and feel with hands and armsStand and sit for prolonged periods of timeOccasionally stoop, kneel, and crouchOccasionally lift, carry, and move up to 35 poundsTRAVEL & AVAILABILITY REQUIREMENTS:Primarily Remote positionOccasional overnight travel
