Senior Manager I, Software Engineering, Portfolio Tools

Position Summary What youll do The Collaboration Tools Engineering Team provides a platform for Walmart global technology teams to plan, track and collaborate, and tools for executives to make decisions about resourcing and product roadmaps on a large scale.

We leverage industry-standard tools like Jira and Confluence, and we build our own custom web tools, data and reporting to empower management decision-making and automate internal processes.

Architecting solutions that simplify the work of developers, engineering managers, program managers, and product managers in a large engineering organization (20K) built for scale.

Building tools that give the best-of commercial tools like Jira with custom solutions.

Building collaborative relationships with key partners by driving priorities aligned to business goals, communicating and prioritizing product roadmaps, and gaining buy-in from executive leadership Determining the future of how Walmart technology teams decide, manage, and track their work.

Qualifications Management of a 14-member multi-site software engineering team (people and technical management).

Experience with full stack web application development: Java and React; data technologies like Azure SQL, CosmosDB, Kafka; caching, object storage.

Cloud deployment such as Azure or GCP.

Ability to work across multiple engineering teams with source and downstream teams via API or data pipeline, and with peer product management and program management teams to deliver.

Ability to improve team processes such as automated testing, CI/CD, containers, secure coding.

Agile/scrum multi-team development experience in Jira.

Experience with reporting pipelines and BI tools.
