The Core Data Services team manages the company’s most critical data as an asset, in a consistently structured and governed manner, in order to empower meaningful insights and transactions and enable our digital innovation to deliver better outcomes and efficiencies for our customers and patients.

In this role, you will analyze data quality, enhance data quality solutions, and actively foster a network of business data stewards and business data owners to improve Medtronic Core Data Quality.

A DAY IN THE LIFE
• The Data Analyst makes the data which is collected in multiple corporate systems insightful and easy to understand.

This will help stakeholders make informed decisions for their business.

By analyzing data, stakeholder’s business will move forward towards their strategic goals.

• The Data Analyst will retrieve and gather data, organize it, harmonize it, and use it to reach meaningful conclusions.

• The Data Analyst’s success is dependent on the ability to work with people—the people you are gathering the research questions from, peers you collaborate with to execute the work, working groups where you may help educate and discuss data issues, and the people you deliver the final presentation to.

• In this role you support Data Governance Champions in achieving strategic objectives and delivering high quality data to business stakeholders
• The Data Analyst will utilize processes and technologies that instill discipline to ensure data is complete, consistent, timely, accessible, and accurate and adheres to global privacy rules.

• Subject Matter Expert on master data management, analysis and quality
• Runs standard and ad hoc data profiling for domain, facilitating data clean-up, readiness
• Roots down quality issues in the data domain
• Proactive analysis of data regarding quality issues (data profiling, deduplication, etc.)
• Develops and provides KPIs for quality issues using data visualization solutions
• Consults local data stewards regarding data quality of core data and facilitates improvements to data
• Facilitates implementation and usage of new KPIs
• Analyzes, advises, and manages usage of and integrates third party datasets
• Integrates suggestions and feedback of business data stewards in data analysis
• Responding to requests from data users to analyze and help resolve data problems.

• Train other analysts, teams for purpose of self-service
• Leads working groups as needed, which aim to support governance
• Participates in projects as needed, and consults on solutions to complex data quality problems MUST HAVE (Minimum Qualifications)
• Bachelor’s degree
• 4 years of experience with a bachelor’s degree or 2 years of experience with an advanced degree NICE TO HAVE (Preferred Qualifications)
• Strongly Preferred: o Previous Medtronic experience o Previous experience in Finance or Master Data Management roles o Analytical skills to spot data patterns and trace data quality issues back to root cause o Consulting and/or continuous improvement mindset o Excellent command of English language o Excellent computer literacy o Strong results orientation (driving to deadlines, financial targets, project goals, etc.) o Profound knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 standard applications o Experience with SAP ERP modules (ECC, GTS, APO, CRM) and other Corporate systems like SalesForce.com, Agile, etc.

o Working knowledge of MDM capabilities o Ability to influence and collaborate with other departments like Finance, Supply Management, Customer Service, Supply Chain and Commercial Ops, and the ability to understand how those groups operate and use master data o Ability to lead medium sized groups; create presentations, present, organize conversations, drive dialect o Understanding of relational databases o Ability to use tools for data analysis such as Excel, Tableau, Alteryx, Power BI, QlikView, Spotfire or similar o Ability to perform basic data mapping exercises o Ability to understand end-audience needs and requirements o Detail oriented and organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

o Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Familiar with Agile/Scrum development methodology
• Experience with documentation control or data maintenance processes and procedures or equivalent customer service or finance experience
• Knowledge of information protection policies.

• Experience in working across global teams
• Ability to understand end-audience needs and requirements
• Detail oriented and organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

• Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Works well in a global team environment
• Healthcare industry / business knowledge or experience
• Understanding impact of Quality / Regulatory requirements
• Experience with Informatica product suite (MDM, IDQ, AXON)
• SQL knowledge with the ability to query and analyze data on demand
• Detailed knowledge of tables & datasets related to MDM
