RESPONSIBILITIES Kforce has a client in search of a Senior Firmware Engineer in Chicago, IL.
Summary This is an opportunity to lead the firmware development efforts from concept to product launch of first to market products.
The Senior Firmware Engineer is responsible for developing embedded firmware for consumer electronic products.
You will collaborate with cross-functional internal and external teams to develop amazing products that meet or exceed customer requirements.
This will require a deep understanding of the user experience in order to develop features that are simple, elegant and that delight our customers.
Responsibilities Collaborate with marketing and cross-functional engineering teams to define product features and requirements Play a lead role in defining FW architecture to implement new product and product features Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to develop embedded firmware that meets or exceeds product specification requirements Design, implement, debug, and test code running on 8-bit, 16-bit, and 32-bit MCU’s for life safety products Support electrical bring-up and debug of prototype hardware Work with internal teams and external contract manufacturers to bring products to mass production Define and implement SoftwareFirmware release and revision control best practices and policies REQUIREMENTS Engineering degree is required B.S.
in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field 10 to 15 years of experience designing consumer electronic products 7 to 10 years of experience developing embedded FW and SW for consumer electronic products using any or all of the following programming languages CC++ and assembly language 2 to 5 years of experience designing IoT products is a strong plus Experience in analog and digital signal processing FW development on 8-bit, 16-bit, 32-bit or ARM processor platforms from a variety of chipset manufacturers, most notably Renesas, TI, Microchip and Marvell Experience developing with a variety of interface protocols such as SDIO, I2C, SPI, RS232, Parallel and SerialUART Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills Proficient ability in status reporting, communicating technical dataresults and issues, impacts, and corrective actions Experience designing products to meet UL1484, UL2034 andor UL217 a strong plus Experience in Waterfall andor Agile NPD processes is a strong plus Experience with Software Configuration Management tools (preferably git) is a plus Kforce is an Equal OpportunityAffirmative Action Employer.
